Where to Hunt... (Level 41-80)
As you get into the higher levels, it is even more important to try to get a decent HP buff (virtue to temerity, depending on your level) and a KEI or decent mind buff, that increases your mana pool and regenerates mana faster. If you cannot get buffs, you can purchase potions from The Plane of Knowledge as a substition, especially for self heals, haste and mana regen. Buffs become even more important because as we get higher, the mobs also become much harder, in comparison to the lower levels. Also remember you can only fearkite mobs until they are level 52, so fearkiting in your mid 60's doesn't become viable anymore, as the mobs will not be high enough for you. However, as you get your Archery Mastery AA's, you can begin to solo mobs by snarekiting, by using root and shoot (and meleeing depending upon your gear and AA's).
Hot Spots (August 2008)
Hot Spots are zones that give you bonus experience points when you hunt. The latest hotzones can be found here
41-50
The hotzone for level 40 is Lower Guk, which is fun for grouping. It is full of undead though, so remember to take some potions of unlife awareness (or better know as invisibility versus undead) as your camouflage spell will not work here. For soloing, head to The Jaggedpine Forest, as a preferred zone for fearkiting. Another option is The Eastern Wastes (check out the panic animal guide).
For grouping, I always found Echo Caverns to be a good place for fast experience, but that was a while back. The beach at Gunthak offers grouping opportunities for late 30's/early 40's and as you get higher, Dulak's Harbour becomes a decent levelling zone. Negafen's Lair (Naggy's Lair or Sol B) is very good for XP and don't forget you can head into the Planes of Power zones at 46. Plane of Justice is the best zone for your level.
51-60
As your near your mid 50's, Natimbi becomes great for fearing turepta cragwalkers, reef crustaceans or hynid fleshrippers. Giant Anacondas in Jaggedpine still give some XP. In Western Wastes you can also do some decent fearkiting (and foraging whilst you are at it). Blackfeather Roost is the 55 hotzone and you can either get a group there, or fearkite the bear cubs and bears, which can be found just to the right of the zone as you enter it.
The hotzone for level 50 is Old Sebilis off Trakanon's Teeth. If you are level 45 or under you will need to do the Sebilis Key quest to access the zone. Other grouping options can mainly found in the Planes' zones and in Nadox. Velketor's Labyrinth is worth a look and DoN missions are also fun.
61-70
Soloing options here depend on if you have your archery mastery AA's or not. For 'root and shoot' or snarekiting, you really need AM3. If you have AM2/3 then I have found that Dranik's Scar is okay for your late 50's/early-mid 60's (The mobs near the zone in to Noble's Causeway or The Bloodfields are doable). Mid sixties you can try snarekiting the murkgliders in the valley at the zone in to Noble's Causeway (AM3 a must). If you do not yet have your Archery Mastery AA's, you can still fearkite in Natimbi and fear the Ravenous Nightstalkers in the Plane of Nightmare (they used to drop nice gems) or the bears and bear cubs in Blackfeather Roost. This is really the unfortunate end of your fearkiting abilities, as mobs go grey or green in your early to mid sixties and our fearkiting spell does not affect mobs above level 52. Grieg's End is also a favourite and you can hack and slash mobs, instead of rooting and shooting (the mobs in Griegs End are fairly easy to melee). It is also an outdoor zone, so the higher level harmony spell comes in handy. Vxed instance is soloable between 65 and 70 for AA Experience (go for for the non summoning mobs - Hynids, Pookas, and Cragbeasts). As you head towards 70, head to the greenhouse area in Katta Castrum and kite snakes. You need to be at least moderately geared to handle this area, as the kiting will be slow and they hit hard if you let them (I can vouch for that!). Don't forget to get the two tasks (serpent slayer and herb retrieval) from the tents outside the main building near the zone in. These give you both xp and faction. I have also been told that the Plane of Fire is good at 65-70, the mobs are easy to pull and bowkite.
For grouping the the current hotzone is Plane of Storms. You can either get a group here or another option is to snarekite the frogs in the forest area (Hurrican and Typhoon frogs). The 65 hotzone is Sunderock springs. The area at the zone in seems fairly safe for kiting within a group.
70-80
Dragonscale Hills is a good place to head to and melee (yes melee) Doombugs. They only hit for 200 or so, but you will still need to be about 11k fully buffed to manage one of them. The doombugs are amiable, but are social when you attack, so use your level 70 harmony spell to single pull. The animals in the zone also don't hit too hard and quests to improve your Ak'anon Strike Force V faction can be collected from the tents on the right, as you zone in from Steamfont. The other mobs in the zone are soloable if you have decent gear as they hit harder. As you get into your mid/late 70's, you could try kiting mobs in The Loping Plains. Other solo locations are still Katta Castrum Greenhouse and the Bastion of Thunder, The Bears in Icefall glacier are kiteable until level 78, when some start to turn light blue. Halls of Honour is also a decent place to head to for easy kills until your late 70's. Mid 70's you may also like to try the Jonas Dagmire's Skeletal Hand augmentation quest, full details of which can be found here.
For grouping try the SoF zones or the Riftseekers Sanctum (hot zone for level 70).
